Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

The province of British Columbia, Canada, announced a significant investment in services for seniors on April 25. The government is allocating $304 million over five years to United Way BC. This funding aims to expand community-based programs that support seniors in living independently.

The investment will enhance programs like Better at Home. These programs provide non-medical support such as housekeeping and transportation. The funding will also expand caregiver support and therapeutic activation programs for seniors.

The initiative includes increasing community connector positions. This expansion will provide more seniors with personalized support and connections to community services. The goal is to help seniors stay active, connected, and resilient in their communities.
