Bulgarian Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Korean Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong-bae Kim met on Thursday to discuss bilateral defence cooperation. They also addressed security issues in Europe and Asia.
Both parties acknowledged shared challenges despite different geostrategic contexts. They see significant potential for future development of bilateral defence relations.
Discussions included defence-industrial cooperation, army modernization projects, and countering cyber attacks. Bulgaria and Korea emphasized their continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and the security of its people.
Zapryanov highlighted the strong ties between Bulgaria and Korea. He invited Korean defence companies to participate in the Hemus International Exhibition in Bulgaria in 2026.
