Us to boost ai chip production amid tariff concerns

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

The U.S. is ramping up AI chip production as concerns grow over potential tariffs. This move aims to create a more resilient semiconductor supply chain. Tariffs on semiconductors could increase costs for consumers. Nvidia is producing its Blackwell chips at TSMC plants in Phoenix. Supercomputers will be built in Houston and Dallas. AMD also plans to manufacture processors at TSMC's Arizona facility. Efforts to bring semiconductor manufacturing to the U.S. increased after the CHIPS Act in 2022. The act provided $53 billion for chipmakers to move production to the states. Building fabrication facilities is a long-term process.
