European Leaders Discuss Security Guarantees for Ukraine; UK Unveils Plan with France and Ukraine

European leaders convened in London to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine amid ongoing tensions. The informal summit at Lancaster House, hosted by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, saw participation from approximately fifteen European leaders, plus Canada. The UK has initiated a plan, in coordination with France and Ukraine, to ensure Ukrainian security should an agreement with Russia be reached. This plan has apparent support from the United States. The summit also addressed bolstering military aid to Ukraine and economic sanctions on Russia in anticipation of potential negotiations, as well as enhancing Ukrainian defensive capabilities.
