China Explores Using AI for Deep Space Exploration to Heliosphere's Edge

China is exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance its deep space exploration capabilities. Researchers are investigating how AI technologies could address mission challenges, with plans to reach 100 astronomical units by 2049 and potentially 1,000 astronomical units by the end of the century. AI could increase spacecraft autonomy, reduce reliance on Earth, optimize data processing, improve autonomous perception, and enable autonomous decision-making for navigation and control.
