Latvian Minister Attends Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in Rome

Rome, Italy - July 9-10, 2025 - Latvian Minister of Economics Valdis Valainis participated in the annual high-level Ukraine Reconstruction Conference.

The conference focused on mobilizing international support and investments for Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, reforms, and modernization, as well as its progress toward European Union membership.

Discussions included economic cooperation with Ukraine, Latvian businesses' involvement in reconstruction, and Latvia's support for Ukraine. Latvia has provided significant support, including social infrastructure restoration, and its total aid to Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to December 31, 2024, reached at least 859 million euros.

The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 30.6 billion euros in 2025, with 3.5 billion euros already disbursed and 7 billion euros from the G7 ERA initiative. The conference addressed European support for Ukraine and future actions to promote its reconstruction and integration into the EU.
