The sixth European Political Community (EPC) Summit is convening in Tirana, Albania on May 16, 2025, bringing together 47 heads of state and government. This marks the first time the EPC meets in the Western Balkans, highlighting the region's growing role in Europe. The summit provides a platform for open dialogue and cooperation on pressing issues facing European citizens.

Discussions will focus on European security, with emphasis on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, strengthening democratic resilience, and bolstering economic competitiveness. Mobility challenges, including migration and youth empowerment, will also be addressed. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who assumed office in October 2024, is attending the summit.

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia remains a key topic. The EU continues to facilitate discussions aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries. European Council President António Costa has stated that Albania could potentially join the EU before 2030 if it maintains its current progress. Albania has opened multiple chapters in its EU accession talks and aims to complete negotiations by 2027.
