Bogotá, July 1, 2025 – Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced that Colombia and South Africa will co-host an international emergency conference in Bogotá on July 15, 2025.
The conference aims to define concrete actions to end Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories. This initiative follows a UN General Assembly resolution from September 18, 2024, which demanded Israel end its "illegal presence" within 12 months.
The resolution, supported by 124 votes, calls for Israel to comply with international obligations, withdraw military forces, cease settlement activities, and return occupied lands and properties.
