Kabul, Afghanistan, July 8, 2025 – The World Food Programme (WFP) has issued an urgent warning regarding the worsening humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

According to the WFP, approximately 10 million Afghans are in need of food assistance this summer, but due to limited funding, only about one million will receive support.

The agency notes that wheat flour and vegetable oil are being delivered to the most vulnerable areas, where the food situation is particularly difficult. Such supplies are temporary aid that requires further support and effort from the international community.

As of July 2025, funding for humanitarian aid reaches only about 18% of the required amount. This significantly limits the ability to reach those in need, despite the ongoing efforts of international organizations.
