Trump Orders Phaseout of Renewable Energy Tax Credits

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

On July 7, 2025, President Donald Trump issued an executive order. The order directs federal agencies to accelerate the phaseout of tax credits for wind and solar energy projects.

The order is part of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." It mandates the Treasury Department to enforce the elimination of these tax credits. The Interior Department is also tasked with reviewing policies favoring renewable energy.

Both departments must submit reports to the White House within 45 days. The executive order aligns with the administration's energy policy, which emphasizes traditional energy sources. Environmental groups oppose the move.
