Overnight on Friday, March 16, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. The assault involved 112 Shahed-type UAVs and various other types of drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Air defense systems, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack. Air defense forces successfully intercepted 73 drones over the south, east, and central regions of Ukraine. Specifically, 36 drones were neutralized without any negative consequences. The attack impacted the Odesa, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions. In Chernihiv, a drone struck a residential building in the Pryluky district, damaging houses and causing fires. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties. Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and vehicles, in the Odesa and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi regions, resulting in three injuries, including one woman in critical condition.
