OIC Forms Contact Group Amidst Escalating Israel-Iran Tensions

On June 22, 2025, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) announced the formation of a ministerial contact group in response to rising tensions between Israel and Iran. The group aims to facilitate communication with international and regional stakeholders to support de-escalation efforts.

The OIC condemned Israeli actions against Iran, emphasizing the need to halt attacks and expressing concern over the escalation. A resolution condemned Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and expressed solidarity with Tehran.

The OIC called for the international community to take deterrent measures and hold Israel accountable. The organization also reaffirmed Iran's right to self-defense. The summit, hosted by Turkey, emphasized unity among Muslim nations against regional destabilization.
