Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Washington, May 13 - The U.S. imposed sanctions on a shipping network on Tuesday. The network is accused of sending millions of barrels of Iranian oil to China.

According to the State Department, the sale of this oil funded Iranian weapons. It also supported attacks by the Houthi militant group on shipping in the Red Sea, the U.S. Navy, and Israel.

The U.S. stated that the network facilitated the shipment of oil worth billions of dollars to China. This was done on behalf of Iran's Armed Forces General Staff and its front company, Sepehr Energy.
