Turkey is ready to contribute to ensuring a ceasefire and lasting peace, including organizing negotiations. Putin suggested Ukraine hold direct talks on ending the war in Istanbul starting May 15th without preconditions. Zelensky stated that negotiations with Russia are only possible after a ceasefire. Russia's Ministry of Defense announced the resumption of military actions in Ukraine after a brief pause on May 9th.
