Russia and venezuela to sign strategic partnership agreement

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in Moscow on Wednesday. The two leaders are expected to sign a strategic partnership agreement, according to the Kremlin.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov described the agreement as a "weighty, substantial, and very important framework document." This move comes as Russia seeks to strengthen ties with countries that share its desire to counter the influence of the "collective West."

Since 2022, Russia has signed strategic partnership agreements with China, North Korea, and Iran. Maduro will also attend a military parade in Moscow on Friday.
