Record Snowfall hits moscow, causing power outages

Moscow and the Moscow region experienced record snowfall on May 1st and 2nd. According to meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets, the amount of precipitation was unprecedented for this time of year. The heavy snowfall caused significant power outages across the region. As of May 2nd, 237 power lines and 4,400 transformer substations were affected, impacting approximately 26,000 people. The most affected areas include the northern and northwestern districts, such as Taldom, Dmitrov, and Sergiev Posad. Restoration efforts are underway to restore power to the affected areas.
