On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (FAR) attacked the Presidential Palace in Khartoum, Sudan, with heavy artillery.
The attack, launched from the Salha area, damaged the Ministry of Minerals building. No casualties were reported.
The FAR also intensified attacks on army positions in other parts of Sudan, including the White Nile State and Nahud, resulting in civilian casualties in Darfur.
The conflict in Sudan, ongoing since April 15, 2023, has caused a major displacement crisis, with over 12.5 million people forced to leave their homes.
