China's coastguard announced it conducted law enforcement patrols in the waters surrounding the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea on Wednesday.
These patrols occurred amid escalating tensions with the Philippines over the area. The coastguard stated it has intensified patrols since early April.
They have been conducting tracking, surveillance, and interception operations to safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
