Volkswagen has reduced its workforce in Germany by approximately 7,000 employees since initiating its cost-cutting efforts in late 2023.

The company's CFO, Arno Antlitz, announced the reduction on Wednesday, following the release of Volkswagen's first-quarter financial results.

Antlitz assured that the implementation of agreed measures would continue with full force, as the company aims to reduce factory costs for the VW brand.
