Protests erupt at Brooklyn synagogue during Israeli minister's visit

Clashes erupted between anti-Israel protesters and police outside a Brooklyn synagogue on Sunday. The protest took place at Congregation Shaare ZIon on Ocean Parkway. The demonstration was organized in response to a scheduled speech by Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

The event was ultimately canceled, and several arrests were made. The violence began shortly after 9:30 a.m. as NYPD officers and members of the crowd clashed during the demonstration.

Minister Ben-Gvir is now expected to return home a day early. This follows a previous incident two days prior where anti-Israel demonstrators and Hasidic Jews scuffled outside the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, where Ben-Gvir also made an appearance.
