Israeli Military to Expand Offensive in Gaza, Urges Evacuation of Combat Zones

On April 12, 2025, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced plans to expand the military offensive in Gaza. Katz urged residents to evacuate combat zones. The Israeli army has completed taking control of the Morag Axis, which runs through Gaza between Rafah and Khan Yunis. The area between the Philadelphi Corridor and the Morag Axis, once home to over 200,000 Palestinians, now houses only a few hundred. Israeli forces are also reportedly displacing residents from Beit Hanoun and other northern neighborhoods to expand the Netzarim Corridor's military area.
