Indonesia Prioritizes Domestic Gas Needs, Adjusts LNG Exports to Singapore

Edited by: Ainet

Indonesia's SKK Migas announced a strategic shift on April 9th, redirecting five LNG export cargoes to domestic buyers during April and May. This decision underscores Indonesia's commitment to meeting its internal gas requirements. In addition to redirecting LNG cargoes, Indonesia will optimize gas exports from the Natuna area to Singapore. Simultaneously, it will decrease exports via the Sumatra pipeline to Singapore. The country plans to reduce exports to Singapore by 30 million standard cubic feet per day via the pipeline starting in June. These measures reflect Indonesia's focus on bolstering its domestic gas supply amid rising demand and supporting its industrial sector. The government aims to balance its export commitments with the energy needs of its growing economy.
