The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has issued a warning about the severe consequences of reduced funding for humanitarian aid. Approximately 58 million individuals are at risk of losing vital support, impacting those in 28 crisis zones, including Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Palestinian territories. The WFP anticipates a 40% decrease in funding by 2025. This reduction follows previous cuts, including the suspension of US aid programs abroad. The WFP requires nearly $570 million to assist over seven million people monthly in Sudan, where 24.6 million face acute hunger. For the Palestinian territories, the WFP estimates a need of $265 million for the next six months to feed 1.4 million people in Gaza and the West Bank. The WFP had previously warned that Gaza only has two weeks' worth of food supplies remaining.
