In Segovia, Antioquia, Colombia, a military operation on March 25, 2025, resulted in the deaths of nine members of the Clan del Golfo, Colombia's primary criminal organization. President Gustavo Petro stated he ordered the operation, which also led to one capture and the seizure of thirteen rifles. The deceased include leaders Manuel Alexander Ariza Rosario, known as "Hitler," and Jairo Julio de Hoyos, alias "Neym." The operation, involving the Army and the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC), took place in the rural areas of Arenales and Montefrío. Petro accused the Clan del Golfo unit of ambushing army forces and kidnapping and murdering Jaime Alonso Gallego, a mining leader from Segovia.
