China has released all employees of the Mintz Group who were detained following a raid on its Beijing office in March 2023. The U.S.-based due diligence firm confirmed the release in an email. Chinese authorities had detained five local staff members during the raid, which initiated a broader crackdown on consultancy and due diligence firms, including Bain & Company and Capvision Partners. Foreign business lobbies expressed concerns that the crackdown negatively impacted investor confidence in China's economy. Mintz Group stated their gratitude to Chinese authorities for allowing their former colleagues to return home.
