A Turkish court has jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu on corruption charges. Imamoglu, a prominent rival of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a potential presidential candidate for 2028, faces removal from the electoral process. Authorities previously revoked his university diploma, a prerequisite for presidential candidacy, on March 18. The legal proceedings could result in a lengthy prison sentence. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified after the Formula 1 race in China.
