Venezuela to File International Charges After Deportations; Resumes Repatriation Flights with U.S.

Venezuela announced it will file international charges for crimes against humanity following the deportation of over 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador. The country also stated on Saturday, March 22, 2025, that it has agreed with the United States to resume repatriation flights for migrants starting tomorrow, after alleging a blockade by the U.S. State Department on deportation operations. The first flight will occur after Washington sent over 200 Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador, who were detained for alleged ties to the criminal organization Tren de Aragua. According to official figures, a total of 919 Venezuelans have returned to their country in five flights since February, including those from Guantánamo and Mexico.
