Rwanda and DRC Commit to Ceasefire Following Meeting Facilitated by Qatar

Rwandan President Paul Kagame and DRC President Felix Tshisekedi met with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday. The meeting, as stated by the three countries, focused on the conflict in the eastern DRC, where the Rwanda-backed M23 armed group has launched offensives. The heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, as previously agreed upon at an African summit. The meeting aimed to foster confidence in a secure and stable future for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the surrounding region.
