Violence continues to escalate in Haiti, with armed gangs attacking the Radio Television of the Caribbean (RTCV) headquarters in Port-au-Prince on Thursday. RTCV, the country's largest media group, had previously abandoned the location a year prior. Over 40,000 Haitians have been displaced in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area between February 14 and March 5, marking the largest displacement in such a short period since 2021, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Humanitarian operations in Haiti face significant access challenges due to security risks from gang activity and resource scarcity, according to the UN. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also warned that funding shortages are causing a rapid deterioration of conditions in displacement sites in Port-au-Prince. The Humanitarian Response Plan, requiring $908 million, is only 5% funded with $46.5 million received.
