Trump Announces Crypto Strategic Reserve, Including XRP, SOL, ADA, BTC, and ETH; Market Values Surge

President Trump announced on Sunday the creation of a "Crypto Strategic Reserve" for the U.S., outlining plans to include XRP, SOL, and ADA. He affirmed that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) would be central to the reserve. This announcement followed an executive order in January aimed at evaluating the establishment of a national digital asset stockpile. The news spurred significant market activity, with all five cryptocurrencies experiencing notable increases. By 2 p.m. ET, Bitcoin approached $93,000, Ether rose by approximately 11.6% to $2,476, XRP also increased by 11.6% to $2.76, Solana jumped by roughly 20% to $168.45, and ADA increased by about 11.6% to $0.66. Trump's memecoin, hosted on Solana, also saw an increase of over 18.5% to $15.39. Trump is scheduled to host a cryptocurrency White House summit on Friday and has appointed David Sacks as the White House czar on cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence.
