Yamandú Orsi was inaugurated as the President of Uruguay on Saturday, March 1, 2025, succeeding Luis Lacalle Pou. This marks the return of the left to power after five years of center-right governance. Orsi, 57, will lead the nation of 3.4 million people until 2030. In his inaugural address at the Legislative Palace, Orsi emphasized the importance of linking democratic health with achieving certain standards of well-being.
