Israeli Forces Strike Military Targets in Southern Syria Amidst Rising Tensions

Israeli forces conducted strikes on Syrian territory on the night of February 26, targeting military sites in the southern region, including headquarters and weapons depots, according to the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The strikes, described as extensive, are part of a policy to prevent southern Syria from becoming a base for hostile activities. An official representative from the Israeli Ministry of Defense emphasized that any attempts by the Syrian regime or terrorist organizations to establish a presence in the area would be met with a forceful response. Reports from local residents and Syria TV indicate that the strikes targeted Kisweh, located 20 km south of Damascus, and the southern province of Daraa. Sounds of aircraft and explosions were reported in Damascus during the attacks. Syria has previously accused Israel of aggression and demanded the withdrawal of its forces from the region. Tensions remain high following these recent events.
