Beijing, Feb 25 - China has called on the European Union to cease imposing sanctions on Chinese companies and to refrain from discrediting the nation. This statement from the commerce ministry follows the inclusion of Chinese entities and individuals in the EU's recent sanctions package targeting Russia. A ministry spokesperson stated that China consistently opposes unilateral sanctions lacking a foundation in international law and not sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council. The spokesperson added that the EU's actions have adversely affected China-EU economic and trade relations. China has asserted it will undertake necessary actions to protect the lawful rights and interests of its enterprises.
