Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting Director Caleb Vitello was removed from his post on Friday, reportedly due to President Trump's dissatisfaction with the agency's arrest numbers of illegal immigrants. Secretary Kristi Noem will decide who will replace him.
Earlier on Thursday, ICE removed 178 detainees from a military base, flying 177 to Honduras before a connecting flight to Caracas. One detainee was returned to a U.S. immigration detention facility. The detainees were illegal immigrants, some with criminal histories or gang affiliations.
