China's Inflation Falls to Five-Month Low Amid Economic Challenges; Global Advertising Revenue Set to Surpass $1 Trillion in 2024

BEIJING, Dec 9 - China's consumer inflation reached a five-month low in November, with the consumer price index rising only 0.2% year-on-year, down from 0.3% in October, as reported by the National Bureau of Statistics. Month-on-month, CPI fell 0.6%, indicating ongoing economic challenges despite government stimulus efforts.

The producer price index also showed deflation, decreasing 2.5% year-on-year, although this was an improvement from a 2.9% drop in October. Analysts suggest that the Chinese economy, facing potential new tariffs from the U.S., may require further policy stimulus to bolster fragile growth.

LONDON, Dec 9 - According to GroupM, global advertising revenue is projected to increase by 9.5% in 2024, surpassing $1 trillion for the first time. The growth is primarily driven by digital platforms, with major companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon expected to capture more than half of the total revenue.

The report indicates that digital advertising will continue to dominate, accounting for 72.9% of total advertising by 2025. In contrast, traditional media, such as TV and print, are expected to see slower growth or declines. The forecast excludes U.S. political advertising, which has significantly impacted overall revenue figures this year.
