On Tuesday, Anthropic unveiled Claude Science — a specialized AI platform designed to help scientists streamline research, analyze data, and manage complex computational processes.
The new tool brings together databases, coding tools, computing resources, and workflows in a single workspace. With its help, researchers can analyze literature, run analyses, create figures and manuscripts, and trace results all the way back to the source code and environment.
The platform comes preconfigured to work with more than 60 scientific databases and is capable of visualizing scientific artifacts — from three-dimensional protein structures to genome browser tracks and chemical drawings.
Claude Science runs on existing Claude models that have passed Anthropic's standard responsible scaling and biosecurity checks. Several research organizations and companies that tested the platform in beta have already noted a marked increase in efficiency.
The launch is part of Anthropic's initiative in the life sciences and healthcare, which the company has been developing since October 2025. In parallel, Anthropic is launching its own preclinical drug development programs focused on neglected diseases.
The platform is available in beta for users on the Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. How will this affect the day-to-day work of laboratories in the coming months?
The release underscores Anthropic's growing focus on applying AI in science, where the platform is positioned as a full-fledged tool for computational biology and related fields.
