Chinese national Yan Yanjia has set an extraordinary world record, showcasing an impressive blend of strength, coordination, and balance. While positioned upside down, he successfully managed to spin 33 hula hoops simultaneously.
The record was officially established on November 29, 2025, in Guilin, China. For the achievement to be officially recognized, the athlete had to not only start all the hoops spinning but also keep them in motion for a sufficient duration. Ultimately, he managed to complete approximately 20 rotations without losing control of any of the hoops.
What makes this particularly remarkable is that Yan's hula-hooping passion did not initially begin as preparation for record-breaking feats. He started training back in 2018, using the hoop as a way to get in shape and lose weight. Over time, standard exercises became too easy for him, prompting him to invent increasingly complex moves.
Gradually, Yan mastered spinning multiple hoops at once, then decided to further escalate the challenge by performing the trick in an inverted position. This requires not only well-developed core muscles but also extremely precise synchronization of movements; the slightest mistake could cause dozens of hoops to simultaneously lose their rhythm.
His feat of 33 hoops allowed the athlete to significantly surpass the previous world record, improving it by an impressive 10 hoops.
Yan Yanjia’s achievement has now been officially etched into the history of Guinness World Records, and the video of his attempt has already become one of the most extraordinary sports clips of recent months.
