NASA has released a new documentary, "Planetary Defenders," to educate the public about planetary defense. The film explores the work of scientists and engineers dedicated to detecting, tracking, and mitigating potential asteroid threats to Earth.

The documentary features firsthand accounts from experts involved in planetary defense, showcasing the science, technology, and collaborative efforts driving this global initiative. NASA invites the public to a YouTube Premiere event on April 16 at 4:30 p.m. EDT, offering an interactive screening and Q&A session with NASA planetary defense experts.

To further engagement, NASA provides digital creators with a toolkit to support the mission of planetary defense. NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office, established in 2016, spearheads the agency's efforts to identify and monitor potentially hazardous asteroids and comets.
