Meta and XGS Energy Partner on Geothermal in New Mexico

June 2025, New Mexico: XGS Energy and Meta are collaborating to develop 150 megawatts (MW) of advanced geothermal energy.

This project will utilize XGS Energy's technology, which generates electricity without water. The electricity will power Meta's data centers in the state.

The project aims to increase geothermal generation tenfold and is expected to be fully operational by 2030.

The project will be located in New Mexico, strengthening the state's grid and helping meet its clean energy goals.
