Arizona: Catclaw Solar and Storage Project Begins Construction

June 14, 2025, Buckeye, Arizona. DESRI has started construction on the Catclaw Solar and Storage project.

The project includes a 205-megawatt (MWac) solar energy system and a 1,000 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery storage system.

The facility is expected to power around 40,000 homes annually. The project has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Arizona Public Service (APS).

Financial backing comes from a consortium of institutions, including BNP Paribas and Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB).

RES is the EPC contractor for the solar project, and EPC Services Company will handle high-voltage EPC work. Tesla will supply the battery storage equipment. Invenergy Services will manage operations and maintenance.
