Green Hydrogen Production Surges: China Dual-Tech Project, UK Road Legalization, and Global Collaborations in 2025

Edited by: an_lymons vilart

Sungrow Hydrogen has commenced production at China's largest dual-tech green hydrogen project, combining a 200 Nm³/h PEM electrolyzer and a 1,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer. The project is located in Daye, Hubei province.

Dual-Tech Efficiency and AI Optimization

The dual-tech approach combines the low cost of alkaline electrolyzers with the fast response of PEM electrolyzers, boosting efficiency and reducing energy consumption. The site utilizes AI technologies for optimized renewable power matching and real-time safety control.

HNO International and Zhuhai Topower Collaboration

HNO International has partnered with Zhuhai Topower New Energy to pilot its Scalable Hydrogen Energy Platform (Shep) in Guangdong Province. The collaboration aims to support the deployment of low-cost modular hydrogen production and refueling sites.

UK Legalizes Hydrogen Machinery on Roads

The UK government has legalized the use of hydrogen-fueled construction and agricultural machinery on public roads. This expands existing permissions for other hydrogen-powered vehicles like cars, buses, and trucks. The statutory instrument was signed on April 29, 2025, by Lilian Greenwood, Minister for the Future of Roads.

Elcogen and Casale Partner for Green Ammonia

Elcogen and Casale have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on green ammonia and Power-to-X (P2X) projects. The collaboration aims to integrate Elcogen's solid oxide electrolysis technology into Casale's plants, with potential applications globally.
