Madrid, Spain: Holcim, IGNIS P2X, and Exolum collaborate on ECO2FLY, a CO2 circular economy project.
The project aims to capture over 700,000 tons of CO2 annually at Holcim's Villaluenga de la Sagra (Toledo) facility.
The captured CO2, combined with green hydrogen, will produce approximately 100,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) per year.
ECO2FLY anticipates avoiding over 6.5 million tons of CO2 emissions in its first 10 years.
The eSAF is designed to directly replace conventional kerosene without aircraft or infrastructure modifications.
