Pacifico Energy Expands Offshore Wind Power Development in Vietnam; EDF Explores Nuclear Energy Investments

Hanoi, Vietnam - U.S.-based Pacifico Energy (PE) is increasing its focus on surveying and developing offshore wind power projects in Vietnam. CEO Nate Franklin met with Vietnam's Party General Secretary To Lam, who praised PE's contributions to the renewable energy sector and the strengthening of Vietnam-U.S. relations. Lam emphasized Vietnam's vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and the need for stable, clean energy sources, assuring that the government is refining its legal framework to facilitate investments in energy projects. Franklin affirmed Vietnam's potential for offshore wind power development and PE's plans to support the country's growth objectives. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with representatives from Électricité de France (EDF), encouraging them to expand investments in green and clean energy and support nuclear power projects. EDF, with experience building 66 nuclear reactors and developing third-generation pressurized water reactors with capacities of 1,200-1,650 MW, aims to play a central role in the global revival of nuclear energy.
