Morocco's Saray Immo Partners with Norway's Empower New Energy in $3.5 Million Solar Power Agreement to Reduce 6,000 Tons of CO2 Emissions Annually

On November 7, 2024, Saray Immo, a major Moroccan industrial platform, signed a 12-year solar power agreement with Norway's Empower New Energy, investing $3.5 million to construct two solar plants with a combined capacity of 5.8 MWp. The plants will be located on Saray Immo buildings and Tanakoo's manufacturing site in Berrechid, Casablanca. The solar installation will cover approximately 49,000 square meters, generating an estimated 9,600 MWh of clean electricity annually. This initiative is projected to eliminate approximately 6,000 tons of CO2 emissions yearly, supporting Morocco's goal to increase renewable energy to 52% of its electricity generation capacity by 2030.
