Google is leveraging artificial intelligence to combat online scams across its platforms. The company reports a 20-fold increase in detecting 'scammy results' in Search, protecting users from harmful websites. This initiative extends to Chrome and Android, enhancing security against phishing and other online threats. Gemini Nano, an on-device AI, now powers Chrome's Enhanced Protection mode, offering superior scam detection. It identifies new scams instantly by understanding complex websites and reacting quickly to emerging techniques. This AI is currently blocking tech support scams and will expand to Android devices and cover more scam types. Android's Chrome browser also introduces AI-powered warnings for spammy website notifications. The system identifies suspicious notifications, allowing users to unsubscribe or review blocked content. Google has also launched on-device AI-powered Scam Detection in Messages and Phone apps on Android.
