Google Chrome has finally moved its address bar to the bottom of the screen on Android devices. This ergonomic update, available in Chrome 135, simplifies one-handed use on large smartphones. Users can activate the feature in settings or by long-pressing the address bar. The new placement addresses a long-standing user request, making it easier to reach the address bar. While options like bookmarks remain at the top, users see this as a positive first step. Google previously tested this feature in 2016 but abandoned it in 2020, now following the lead of browsers like Samsung Internet and Arc. Chrome's settings also receive a refresh, with password and autofill options moving to a new section for better organization. This update aims to improve the user experience on larger screens, where one-handed navigation can be challenging. The update is rolling out gradually to Chrome 135 users.
