Google Launches AI-Powered Tools to Combat Conversational Scams on Android, Enhancing User Security and Privacy Globally

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

Google has introduced new AI-powered tools for Android devices designed to detect and prevent conversational scams in real-time. These features, including Scam Detection for Google Messages and Scam Detection for calls, aim to protect users from increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts that often involve tricking victims into sending money or sharing personal information.

The tools use AI to identify suspicious message patterns and alert users, without compromising their privacy. Scam Detection in Google Messages is currently available in English for US, UK, and Canadian users, with plans for expansion.

Scam Detection for calls, initially released to beta users in the US, will also be rolled out more broadly.

In addition to Android protection, Google Cloud has launched AI Protection, securing AI workloads and data across platforms.

These advancements reflect Google's commitment to enhancing digital security and empowering users against evolving cyber threats.
