Meta Rolls Out Passkeys for Facebook

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

Meta is implementing passkeys for all Facebook users on Android and iOS.

Passkeys are a password-free authentication method. They store credentials locally on devices.

Login uses PINs, facial recognition, or fingerprints.

This reduces phishing risks.

Passkey support will extend to Messenger.

WhatsApp introduced passkeys in October 2023 for Android and April 2024 for iOS.

Meta aims for a more secure and convenient user experience.
