iPadOS 19: Mac-like Features, New Interface, and Enhanced Performance Coming in 2025

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

iPadOS 19 is set to bring significant updates, aiming to bridge the gap between iPad and Mac functionalities. Expected to be unveiled at WWDC 2025 in June, with a public release in September, this update focuses on productivity, improved multitasking, and a redesigned interface.

The new interface, codenamed "Solarium," draws inspiration from visionOS, featuring translucent elements and a Mac-like menu bar for quick access to settings. Stage Manager 2.0 promises better window organization and customization, automatically activating with a keyboard and mouse. iPhones with USB-C can connect to iPads for an iPadOS 19-like interface.

iPadOS 19 will optimize the performance of M-series chips, similar to iOS 18's game mode, by pausing unnecessary background processes. Siri is also expected to receive AI-powered upgrades, offering enhanced context-awareness and proactive assistance. These changes aim to make the iPad a more versatile and powerful tool for both work and creative tasks.
