Chile Launches Facial Recognition Payment on Buses

Santiago, Chile: The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications initiated a facial recognition pilot program on Line 406 buses.

The system allows registered passengers to pay fares using facial recognition, eliminating the need for physical cards or mobile phones.

The technology aims to improve payment methods and enhance onboard security, with an estimated 98% accuracy in facial recognition.
